Customs brokers, OPASCOR visit BOC
CEBU, Philippines — The Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu recently hosted representatives from the Chamber of Customs Brokers Inc. - Cebu Chapter (CCBI-Cebu) and the Oriental Port and Allied Services Corp. (OPASCOR) during successive courtesy visits to newly-assumed District Collector Felipe Geoffrey de Vera IV.
De Vera, joined by deputy collector for assessment Marc Anthony Patriarca and assessment division chief Kenneth Kernn Sesante, talked with the stakeholders to explore shared goals and solutions to address concerns.
The CCBI-Cebu delegation included President Elizir Lao, vice president for government affairs Joshua Tan, office manager Jake Montilla, secretary Elizalde Deligero, treasurer Richard Rongcales, and board members Carlos Barte, Beverly Glen Cabelino, and Geraldine Secuya.
BOC-Port of Cebu said in their Facebook account that the customs brokers reaffirmed their commitment in supporting the port’s initiatives by promoting regulatory compliance and advocating for streamlined cargo processing and documentation systems.
Representing OPASCOR were chairman Tomas Riveral, general manager Florimae Velasco, and vice president for operations Jonathan Fernandez.
The OPASCOR team outlined their ongoing efforts to modernize port operations, implement best practices in cargo handling, and ensure seamless logistics support, and expressed full alignment with the port’s goals of ensuring timely cargo clearance and efficient service.
“The Port of Cebu is dedicated to fostering partnerships that drive innovation, efficiency, and growth within the customs and trade sector.
