DENR misang-at og kaso batok 2GO
CEBU, Philippines - Ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Region VII pinaagi sa ilang Environmental Management Bureau (EMB)-7 mipasaka og kaso batok sa 2Go Group Inc., isip resulta sa oil spill nga nakaguba sa kabaybayonan sa Cordova ug Lapulapu City.
“The water pollution case was already received last Friday in the Pollution Adjudication Board (PAB) of which the violation carries a maximum penalty of P200,000 per day reckoned from the time of the discovery of the oil leak,†matud ni EMB-7 regional director William Cunado
“The amount or fee as a penalty could go as high by several millions until such time that the water quality as indicated in the water samples are already within government standards,†dugang pa niya.
Sa August 23 memorandum nga gilagdaan ni Cunado ug gi-address ngadto ni EMB Central Office (CO) Director lawyer Juan Miguel Cuna, mihisgot kini nga ang violation sa shipping company sa section 27 (a) chapter 5 sa DENR Administrative Order (DAO) Number 2005-10 o ang implementing rules and regulations (IRR) sa Republic Act No. 9275 o ang Philippine Clean Water Act of 2004.
Si DENR-7 regional executive director Dr. Isabelo Montejo, nag-awhag sa duha ka shipping companies, 2Go ug Sulpicio, sa paghimo og paspas nga kasulbaran para mabalik na ang katin-awan sa kadagatan sa mga naapektuhang mga lugar. (BANAT NEWS)
