MANILA, Philippines — Japanese singer-songwriter Fujii Kaze wants his Filipino fans to feel “special” when he performs his J-pop, R&B beats at his Dec. 10 gig at the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena.

The Manila leg of his “Best of Fujii Kaze 2020-2024 ASIA TOUR” is presented by Ovation Productions and AEG Presents Asia.

“I have butterflies in my stomach… So, I pray that everything is going to be good,” Kaze told The STAR in an e-mail interview on how he feels about his upcoming show.

He hoped that his fans will feel “special” when they attend his concert. “You are love, light, and the universe. And we are one and the same.”

“We’re going to be alright. Hope we all can feel that way when this December comes. Mahal kita.”

Kaze is the music maker behind Hana, Shinunoga E-Wa, Sayonara Baby, Matsuri, Nan-Nan, and Feelin’ Go(o)d.

Born and bred in Satosh?, Okayama, Kaze turned to YouTube to upload his piano covers of pop songs when he was 12 which eventually led him to sign with a music label.

“For me, it feels like nothing has changed. I always liked them, tasty chords,” he told this paper when queried about his music evolution over the years.

In terms of his creative process, he had this to say: Just simply “finish the melody” and release it. “Then, hopefully, find the words to compliment it. But most of all, I try to let the music create itself!”

He launched his debut single called Nan-Nan in 2019. He dropped his first album Help Ever Hurt Never in 2020 and it reached No. 1 on Billboard Japan’s Hot Album chart and earned several awards in Japan. He was chosen as YouTube Japan’s first Artist On The Rise and picked for Spotify’s global program, RADAR.

In his event, Fujii Kaze “Free” Live 2021 at NISSAN stadium, he performed alone at an empty stadium, conveying a message of hope via his music amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The online concert was livestreamed globally.

In March 2022, Kaze released his second album “Love All Serve All” and embarked on his first US tour in May 2024.

The “Best of Fujii Kaze 2020-2024 ASIA TOUR,” on the other hand, kicked off in Singapore on Oct. 26. Tickets for his Manila show are available at smtickets.com.

The “Best of Fujii Kaze 2020-2024” compilation album is now available on all streaming platforms.
