Mosyon sa kampo ni Rama gibasura sa Ombudsman

CEBU, Philippines — Gibasura sa Office of the Ombudsman tungod sa "lack of merit" ang gisang-at nga motion for reconsideration sa kampo ni suspended Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama labot sa iyang preventive suspension.

Sa siyam ka pahina nga desisyon sa Office of the Ombudsman nga gipirmahan ni Samuel Martires niadtong June 20, 2024, nagpabilin gihapon ang preventive suspension batok ni Rama ug laing pito ka city hall na mga opisyal.

Kini human misumitir sa ilang Motion to Lift Order of Preventive Suspension niadtong May 28, 2024 ug Urgent Motion for Reconsideration with Prayer to Quash or Lift the Order of Preventive Suspension petsa May 16, 2024, kay gibalibaran tungod sa "lack of merit."

Nasuspenso si Rama ug ang laing pito ka opisyal tungod sa mga kasong  grave misconduct, conduct unbecoming of public officer, conduct prejudicial to the best interest of the service, grave abuse of authority (oppression), and violation of the Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for public officials and employees (administrative case).

Nag-ugat ang maong reklamo sa upat ka mga regular nga empleyado sa City Hall ubos sa City Assessor's Office nga sila si Filomena Atuel, Maria Almicar Diongzon, Sybil Ann Ybanez, ug Chito Dela Cerna nga wa makadawat sa ilang sweldo sud sa 10 ka buwan.

Apil sa nasuspenso og unom ka buwan silang kanhi City Administrator Collin Rosell, City Assessor Maria Theresa Rosell ug ubang city assessor officers sila Francis May Jacaban, Angelique Cabugao, Jay-ar Pescante, Lester Joey Beniga, ug Nelyn Sanrojo.

Sa dokumentong nakuha sa media, mao kini ang tubag sa Office of the Ombudsman miingon nga "Their motions failed to persuade."

 “Settled is the rule that the discretion of the Ombudsman cannot be disturbed in the absence of grave abuse of discretion. Respondent-movants failed to show the commission of grave abuse of discretion in the issuance of the assailed Order,” mabasa pa sa dokumento.
