LGUs angay mangandam

CEBU, Philippines - Giawhag ni San Francisco Vice Mayor Alfredo “Al” Arquillano sa Camotes island ang tanang local government units (LGUs) sa Sugbu nga himuong prayoridad ang Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) tungod kay dili kapugngan nga duna gyuy katalagmang mahitabo sa Sugbu.

“Disaster risk reduction must be a priority because it is protecting lives and properties,” matud pa ni Arquillano atol sa press conference kagahapon sa Sarrosa International Hotel sa Mabolo.

“Disaster response and reconstruction is a cost, while disaster risk reduction is an investment. We should focus on reducing the risk and be prepared and ready to response,”dugang niya.

Si Arquillano nailhan na sa iyang mga gipatumang proyekto nga nagdasig sa mga kabarangayan sa iyang lungsod nga mamenusan ang epekto sa katalagman ug ang pag-organisa sa mga sitio o purok aron masulbad dayon ang mga problemang bunga sa climate change.

“Everybody has a role to play. It should start with the community first because the LGUs will be there to support. Everything is given, we have the tools already what we need to do is on how to change the mindset of the people towards awareness,” puno niya. ( /EIM)
