CBCP nag-public apology sa eskandalo sa PCSO funds

CEBU, Philippines - Pormal nga mipadangat sa ilang public apology ang Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) kabahin sa eskandalo sa pito ka Obispo nga gipasanginlang midawat og mga luxury vehicles ug dagkong donasyon gikan sa Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) sa panahon ni kanhi presidente Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.

Ang CBCP statement gibasa ni outgoing CBCP president Nereo Odchimar nga naghangyo sa publiko nga hinay-hinay lang sa ilang paghukom sa mga Obispo nga mga dautan tungod kay ang maong mga mahalong sakyanan ug financial aid gigamit man usab sa nindot nga katuyuan.

“There is no doubt that everywhere in the Church, there is a great sorrow, we are sorry for the pain and sadness that these events have brought upon you. We are saddened that many of you, especially the poor, the youth, our basic ecclesial communities, have been confused by the apparent inconsistency of our actions with our pastoral preaching,” tipik sa pamahayag sa CBCP.

Ang CBCP miangkon nga grabeng pagsuway ang miigo sa simbahan tungod sa maong kontrobersiya, apan mapasalamaton gihapon sa padayong mituo nga inosente ang maong mga Obispo.

 “As we express our sadness we also ask you to be slow in judgment and conscientiously seek the whole truth behind the controversy,” dugang pa ni Odchimar sa ANC.

Malaumon hinuon ang tibuok CBCP nga matapos ra ang gihulagway nilang pagsuway sa simbahan ug molutaw ra ang kamatuoran sa isyu. Ang CBCP mitudlo kang kanhi Cebu Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal nga mangulo sa ilang kaugalingong imbestigasyon kabahin niini.  (BANATNEWS)
