CEBU, Philippines - Ang tagdumala sa SPC Power Corporation miawhag sa mga miyembro sa union sa pagkalma aron magmabugnawon taliwala niining ekonomikanhong krisis sa kalibutan nga nabati na bisan sa mga Sugbuanon.
Si Alfredo Ballesteros, SPC senior vice president for finance and administration ug management panel chairman, miisyu sa maong panghangyo kagahapon taliwala sa bag-ong suliran sa pamuo sa kompaniya tungod sa wala pa masulbad nga mga isyu sa collective bargaining agreement (CBA) sa duha ka habig.
Nabalaka si Ballesteros nga kun modangop sa “hostile actions” ang mga sakop sa union alang sa mga isyu nga masulbad lamang sa panagsabotsabot makapasamot lang hinuon sa impact sa krisis dinhi sa Sugbo.
Gitataw niya nga ang mga empleyado sa SPC nagdawat og “above-average” nga suweldo ug uban pang benepisyo ikomparar sa mga empleyado sa mga call centers, samtang wala sila mag-atubang og hulga sa pagpanaktak nga matud niya nasinati sa mga kawani sa MEPZA.
Si Ballesteros mipasabot nga ang “equal work, equal pay” nga giduso sa mga sakop sa union angayan tan-awon pag-ayo tungod kay naglambigit kini sa mga empleyado nga kanhi sakop sa National Power Corporation (Napocor) ug sa mga gi-hire sa SPC sa dihang mibanos kini sa Naga Power Complex sayo niadtong 1990s.
“Would giving equal benefits to SPC-hired people be fair to those who came from NAPOCOR? Would they agree to this adjustment of the seniority status they enjoyed? Could management afford to grant the kind of benefits for new hires that NAPOCOR gave its people? How would this impact on the NAPOCOR-Salcon agreement?” si Ballesteros nakapangutana.
“The way to proceed is through continuing the ongoing negotiations. Resolving the contentious issues through dialog may take long and involve the process of give and take. But we have made much progress. Management has shown openness and sincerity,” dugang pa niya. (BANAT NEWS)
