Kamara handa na sa SONA

MANILA, Philippines – Plantsado na ang paghahanda ng House of Representatives para sa pagbubukas ng 16th Congress sa Hulyo 22 kasabay sa ikaapat na State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Benigno Aquino III.

"Come Monday morning, the House of Representatives of the 16th Congress will be ready to open its first regular session and officially elect the Speaker," kumpiyansang pahayag ni House Secretary General Marilyn Barua-Yap.

Sinabi ni Yap na noong Marso pa sinimulang maghanda ni House Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. para sa SONA kabilang ang pagbubuo ng task force na mag-aasikaso sa paghahanda.

Dagdag niya na inaasaahan nilang si Belmonte ulit ang mamumuno sa kamara.

Samantala, sinabi ni Senator Franklin Drilon ngayong Huwebes sa isang pulong balitaan na si Acting Senate president Jinggoy Estrada ang magbubukas ng sesyon sa Lunes, kung saan pormal na ipuproklama ang 12 bagong halal na mga senador.

"Then they will formally take their oaths then election of the officers will follow. After they take their oaths, the roll call will establish the quorum then afterwards the election of the officers," ani ni Drilon.
