Imbestigasyon sa 'sex-for-flight' tapos na

MANILA, Philippines – Bumalik na sa bansa ang grupong nag-imbestiga ng "sex-for-flight" scheme sa Gitnang Silangan, ayon kay Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz ngayong Martes.

Ayon kay Baldoz, Lunes ng hapon bumalik mula Jordan ang fact-finding team at agad nang sinimulan ng grupo ang pag-aaral sa lahat ng mga impormasyon at ebidensya na nakalap nila mula sa Gitnang Silangan.

Aniya, matapos ang pag-aaral ay magbibigay na ng mga rekomendasyon ang grupo kung sino ang mga dapat panagutin sa "sex-for-flight" scheme.

“During their information-gathering and fact-finding mission in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, the Team interviewed several OFWs (overseas Filipino workers) and Filipino community leaders, including those who may have information and knowledge about the allegations," pahayag ni Baldoz.

"They also interviewed Philippine Embassy and Philippine Overseas Labor Office officials and employees. They also received oral testimonies, letters, and e-mails related to the issue, and documented these submissions," dagdag ng kalihim.

Tumulak pa-Gitnang Silangan noong Hunyo 28 ang fact-finding team na kinabibilangan ng abogadong si Ophelia Almenario ng Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, Rose Duquez ng Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Leah Fortuna ng Department of Labor and Employment at Edna Yasay, observer mula sa Department of Foreign Affairs.

Matapos ang mga pagkalap ng ebidensya, hihingan ng fact-finding team ng mga sinumpaang-salaysay ang mga opisyal na inakuhasan sa naturang iskandal.

"On the basis of the submissions and documents gathered, the team will determine if a prima facie case exist against our personnel for any wrongdoing that they may have committed at the post," ani Baldoz.

Kabilang sa mga sangkot sa isyu ay sina assistant labor attaché in Riyadh Antonio Villafuerte at assistant labor attaché sa Amman, Jordan Mario Antonio na kapwang tumanggi sa mga akusasyon.
