300 sundalo ikakalat sa Metro Manila sa Labor Day

MANILA, Philippines – Maglalaan ng 300 sundalo ang Armed Forces of the Philippines upang tulungan ang National Capital Region Police Office sa pagbibigay ng seguridad sa Araw ng Paggawa bukas.

Sinabi ni Col. Arnulfo Burgos Jr., tagapagsalita ng Armed Forces of the Philippines, na tatlong grupo ng civil disturbance management (CDM) na may tig-100 sundalo ang tutulong sa mga pulis.

“Through our Joint Task Force NCR (National Capital Region), we are augmenting the police forces by providing three CDM companies,” pahayag ni Burgos sa isang panayam.

“We have also prepared canine, EOD (explosive ordinance division) and medical teams for possible deployment when needed,” dagdag ng tagapagsalita.

Aniya, wala pa naman silang natatanggap na ulat na may banta sa seguridad sa paggunita ng araw ng mga manggagawa, pero naghahanda na sila sa mga protestang ilulunsad ng mga militanteng grupo.

“We will continue to monitor the situation and we will continue our networking with other agencies. We will also conduct intelligence operations,” sabi ni Burgos.

Pinaalala naman ni Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin na pairalin ang maximum tolerance.

“The protesters should also conduct their activities in an orderly way to avoid misunderstanding,” komento ni Gazmin.

Samantala, magsasagawa naman ang mga sundalo sa Bicol ng libreng sakay sa mga nais maghanap ng trabaho mula sa mga liblib na lugar.

Sinabi ni Maj. Angelo Guzman, tagapagsalita ng 9th division ng Army, na makikinabang ang mga taong walang pamasahe upang makapunta sa job fair na gagawin sa lungsod ng Naga.

Gagawin ang Jobs Fair at Livelihood Fair bukas sa SM City Naga kung saan aabot sa 67 estabisyamento ang sasali sa event na isinaayos ng Department of Labor and Employment.

Magsasakay ang mga army trucks mula sa Albay, Camarines Sur, at Camarines Norte patungo sa Naga ng libre.

Nagmula ang mga sasakyan sa 2nd Infantry Battalion, 42nd Infantry Battalion, 49th Infantry Battalion, 901stBrigade, 902nd Brigade at 9th Civil Military Operations Battalion.

“The Free Ride will assist poor yet qualified and deserving people within the division’s area of responsibility to find employment in the jobs fair,” sabi ni Maj. Gen. Romeo Calizo, hepe ng  9th division.
