John Marwin Elao is an online journalist specializing in producing relevant and accurate content for Filipinos on social media. He has a deep interest in harnessing artificial intelligence for journalism.

John currently works as a social media producer for Philstar.com, one of the Philippines' leading and most recognized digital journalism brands. His work covers a wide range of subjects, from politics and pop culture to emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, fintech, and social media platforms.

John was among the 60 selected participants from ASEAN and Timor-Leste for the US Department of State's funded 2024 YSEALI Regional Workshop "Creating Positive Online Space." This YSEALI Regional Workshop, held in Bangkok, Thailand in May 2024, was led by the US Embassy Rangoon and US Embassy Bangkok.

John, a former social media manager/writer at the Philippine Navy, completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at Cavite State University-Imus Campus. He was recognized by his college department with the Best in Practicum award for his internship at The Philippine Daily Inquirer and INQUIRER.net.
