‘Abstraction’ at The Olive Creek Gallery

MANILA, Philippines - The Olive Creek Gallery presents its inaugural exhibit “Abstraction,” which opens on March 8 at The Olive Creek Gallery, ground floor HRC Center, 104 Rada St., Legaspi Village, Makati City. The show runs until March 30.

“Abstraction” features the different abstract styles and techniques of Ramon Orlina, Hermes Alegre, Aner Sebastian, and J. Dezia Chua. Its main highlight is the inclusion of the late National Artist Jerry Elizalde Navarro’s works, particularly the last abstract piece he painted before he passed away in 1999.

‘Joya — A Modern Native’ at Rockwell Tent

The Proscenium at Rockwell, in cooperation with Gallery Big, presents “Joya — A Modern Native,” which is on view at the Rockwell Tent, Makati City.

The retrospective show features two of National Artist Jose Joya’s large murals from the height of his artistic career in the late 1970s: the 8x10 feet “Mariveles” and the 4x12 feet triptych “Lanterns of Enlightenment.” Also included are over 20 on-the-spot sketches of his many travels abroad.
