Philippines sports’ who’s who at PSA rites
MANILA, Philippines — Top officials of Philippine sports pay their tribute to all highest achievers of 2024 when they join in the celebration of the San Miguel Corporation-Philippine Sportswriters Association (SMC-PSA) Awards Night tomorrow at the Centennial Hall of the Manila Hotel.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman Richard Bachmann teams up with Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) president Abraham “Bambol” Tolentino as they lead the local sports community in cheering the athletes, officials, and other individuals who made the year just passed truly a memorable one behind their respective exploits.
International Olympic Committee (IOC) representative Mikee Cojuangco-Jaworski and Sen. Bong Go, chairperson of the Senate Committee on Youth and Sports, are also expected to lend their hands in the traditional gala night co-presented by ArenaPlus, Cignal and MediaQuest.
PSC commissioners Bong Coo, Edward Hayco, Fritz Gaston and Walter Torres are also on the list of top sports officials along with PSC executive director Paulo Francisco Tatad.
Invitations were also extended to two of the country’s top sports patrons in SMC president and CEO Ramon S. Ang and Metro Pacific Investments Corp. chairman and president Manny V. Pangilinan.
Supported by the PSC, POC, Milo, PLDT/Smart and Go, with backing from the PBA, PVL, 1-Pacman Party List, Rain or Shine, Akari and AcroCity, registration for the star-studded gathering starts at 5 p.m. for the 7 p.m. program proper.
