Sato jumps over to Chery Tiggo; Dongallo to UP
MANILA, Philippines — Multi-titled middle blocker Risa Sato has crossed over to Chery Tiggo from Creamline.
The transfer was made official yesterday after the team announced it on social media, meaning Sato could now suit up for the Crossovers, who will resume their Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference campaign against Galeries Tower Tuesday at the PhilSports Arena.
Sato amicably parted ways late last year with the Creamline franchise where she was part of its 10 storied championships in the league.
Meanwhile, University of the Philippines bolstered its entire sports program in tapping in development coach Dr. Obet Vital and rising volleyball star Casiey Dongallo alongside a bevy of other standouts from University of the East.
A high school MVP in PNVF and SSL national leagues, the 5-foot-7 spiker Dongallo has completed her transfer this week.
She, along with pals Kizzie Madriaga, Jelai Gajero and Jenalyn Umayam, will redshirt this coming tourney before being eligible in Season 88 for UP women’s volleyball team backed by Strong Group Athletics and business tycoon Frank Lao.
