Rockets-Hawks game postponed due to winter storm

MIAMI, United States — The scheduled NBA game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Houston Rockets on Sunday (Manila time) has been postponed due to a winter storm in Atlanta.

"The decision was made in consultation with local officials and to prioritize the safety of the players, fans and staff due to the severe weather and hazardous icy conditions in the Atlanta area," the NBA said in a statement.

The date for the rescheduled game will be announced later, the league added.

Heavy snow and freezing on the roads has caused havoc in the Georgia capital and local media said outages left more than 80,000 people without power on Saturday morning.
