MANILA, Philippines — Palawan Yurich Builders ruled the 18-under division of the Junior Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) by sweeping the best-of-three finals against North Division champion Rizal Province Switch Fiber last Monday at the Home of the Altas Gym in Pamplona III, Las Piñas City.

Lebron Jhames Daep made crucial back-to-back baskets in the last 26 seconds to give Palawan Yurich Builders an 86-84 edge en route to a title-clinching 88-84 victory.

Loiue Rosales of Palawan Yurich was fouled by Axl Manansala of Rizal in the last two seconds and hit two free throws to seal the victory in Season 2 of the 18-under division of the MPBL.

The six-foot-seven Daep finished with 26 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, two steals and three blocks and was named Finals MVP.

General Trias native Louie Rosales recorded a game-high 29 points while John Corpuz contributed 11 points, followed by TJ Tabbuan with 10 points.

Rizal Province was led by team captain Seann Franco who recorded 19 points on top of eight boards, two assists, three steals and a block.

The San Pedro Spartans claimed the 16-under division title by beating the San Juan Mighty Warriors in overtime, 109-99.

Biñ?an Tatak Gel ruled the 14-under division, beating Rizal Switch Fiber, 82-68.
