Giannis, Lillard named to NBA Cup all-tournament team
NEW YORK — Milwaukee's Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard, and Oklahoma City's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander were among those named to the NBA Cup all-tournament team announced on Thursday (Friday Manila time).
Antetokounmpo's triple-double led the Bucks over Oklahoma City, 97-81, in Tuesday's NBA Cup final at Las Vegas, completing an unbeaten run that included a semifinal win over Atlanta.
In voting by a media panel, Greek star Antetokounmpo and US playmaker Gilgeous-Alexander each received 20 votes and Lillard had 19.
Other spots on the select squad went to Atlanta guard Trae Young with 12 points and Turkish big man Alperen Sengun of the Houston Rockets, who lost to Oklahoma City in the semis, with six.
Antetokounmpo, who was named the NBA Cup Most Valuable Player, was also named to the all-tournament team for last year's inaugural edition of the in-season tournament after the Bucks made an unbeaten run to the semifinals only to fall to Indiana.
