Isleta on a roll at swim trials
MANILA, Philippines – Southeast Asian Games gold medalist Chloe Isleta continued to shine in the Philippine Aquatics Inc. (PAI) national trials 25-meter short course after winning two more medals in the meet on Thursday.
Isleta, who previously ruled the 100m backstroke, 100m individual medley and 50m freestyle, continued to dominate the field on Thursday.
She topped the girls’ 50 meter backstroke with a time of 27.83 seconds and 200m freestyle with a time of 2:04.17.
She outpaced Xiandi Chua, who clocked in at 29.06 seconds in the 50m race. The 26-year-old also outswam Hannah Sanchez and Angela Talosig in the other division.
“Just doing the best I can. I guess I’m in good shape and ready to compete for the flag and country,” Isleta said.
Other gold medalists in the national trials are Miguel Barreto in the boys’ 200m freestyle, (1:49.68); Rian Marco Tirol in the boys’ 100m breaststroke (1:00.91); Sophia Annika Margare Isip in the girls’ 100m breaststroke (1:12.41); Jerard Dominic Jacinto 50m backstroke (24.89); Robin Christophel Domingo in 200m butterfly (2:02.38); Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh 200mm butterfly ( 2:15.31); Raymund Paloma 800m freestyle (8:23.94); and Jie Angela Talosig in girls’ 800m freestyle (9:30.09).
The event will be the basis for the swimmers who will compete in the World Aquatics World Series.
After the three series in Shanghai, Incheon and Singapore, the World Aquatics World Series championships will run from December 10-15 in Budapest, Hungary.
