MPL PH Season 12: AP Bren secures Upper Bracket advantage as playoffs loom

MANILA, Philippines – AP Bren has secured the last upper bracket slot after the final week of the Regular Season of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Philippines Season 12 at the Shooting Gallery Studios in Makati City.

Though it was mixed results for AP Bren, their reverse 2-1 sweep of defending champions ECHO resulted in enough points for them to end the regular season at second seed with 24 points. 

The team's quest for the top two finish in the regular season was aided by TNC Pro Team, which was already eliminated from playoffs contention. The Phoenix Army ended the season with upset wins over Blacklist International and RSG Philippines, which both fell to third and fourth place in the rankings at 22 points each. The Agents inched out the raiders by head-to-head for third place.

Smart Omega's win over AP Bren netted them a playoffs spot, leaving ONIC Philippines and Minana EVOS scrambling to reach enough points in an effort to advance. The Tigers finished their season with a statement 2-0 win over ONIC Philippines, but it was not enough as the Hedgehogs defeated Smart Omega to secure a playoffs spot.

ECHO, which led most of the season, saw a downward trend, losing its last two matches over the weekend. But these did not threaten the team’s hold of the top spot as the defending champions ended the regular season still at No. 1 with 30 points.

MPL Philippines Season 12 will undergo a one-week break before returning with the playoffs on October 25 at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City.
