MANILA, Philippines — A $24-billion integrated resort is set to open at Entertainment City in Parañaque this year. Okada Manila, owned by the  Tiger Resort Leisure and Entertainment of Japanese billionaire/gambling magnate Kazuo Okada, promises to capture imaginations by providing the grandest amenities and most spectacular entertainment.

Tiger Resort president Steve Wolstenholme said the Philippines is the perfect place for the next entertainment, gaming and tourism destination in Asia.

"It has the potential to compete with the entertainment and gaming giants from across the region with its best natural resources—its hospitality and warmth," he said.

Wolstenholme believes that the Japanese's economic prowess combined with Filipino hospitality will result in extraordinary service.

Nothing but elevated and complete experience in hospitality and entertainment, the gaming resort plotted on 44 hectares of land, aims to be an icon, to change how the world will look at the Philippines and attract tourists and investors in the Philippines.

Local partner Tonyboy Cojuangco, meanwhile, said the project can also lure investors from all over.

"Once people see something great in the country, people will invest and go here, which is why me made this so grand. So investors would notice," Cojuangco said at the launch Okada Manila on Tuesday,

The magnificent structure will be the cherry on top of Manila's very own Las Vegas Strip.

Below are some details about the entertainment resort:

Unique structure

Quite unique to Okada Manila is its Y-shaped hotel that gleams a bright gold color against the sunset. According to Wolstenholme, gold is one of the key themes of Okada Manila. "Naturally, it symbolizes abundance and, at the same time, represents the hue of Manila Bay's famed sunset," he explained.

The two wings of the hotel, Pearl and Coral, will be connected by two sky bridges and will have 15 floors each.

Biggest fountain in Asia

The most iconic of all of its features will be the dancing water display and light show of The Fountain. The Fountain will be a one-of-a-kind venue for special events and concerts.
