PVL MVP Abdilla leads SEAG-bound men’s volley squad

MANILA, Philippines — Reigning Premier Volleyball League MVP Ranran Abdilla, Mark Gil Alfafara and John Vic de Guzman will headline the Philippine men's volleyball delegation heading to the 2017 SEA Games in Kuala Lumpur.

Alfafara powered Cignal HD Spikers to the inaugural PVL Reinforced Conference championship against Abdilla-led Air Force Jet Spikers.

De Guzman, the lone holdover from the 2015 team, will serve as team captain.

Joining them are University of Perpetual Help's Relan Taneo, Bonjomar Castel and Jack Kalingking; National Univeristy's Bryan Bagunas and Reyson Fuentes; De La Salle Univeristy's Geuel Asia; Far Eastern University's Greg Dolor; Cignal's Herschel Ramos; and South Western University's Alden Dave Cabaron.

SWU'sEduard Carascal and Peter Quiel of FEU were listed as reserves in the list submitted to the organizers.

Sammy Acaylar, part of the coaching staff that won the gold medal in the women's division in 1993, will handle the team. - Aaron Brennt B. Eusebio
