Floods hit 10 Zamboanga villages

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A farmer has been reported missing as 10 barangays in Zamboanga del Sur were submerged in floodwaters due to heavy rains in the past two days.

Superintendent Michael Nicolas, Zamboanga peninsula police spokesman, said Apay was last seen attempting to cross a river, but was swept away by the strong current.

Nicolas said eight barangays in Dumigag town and two in Ramon Magsaysay were flooded. There was no reported casualty.

In Koronadal City, North Cotabato, flashfloods due to heavy rains snarled traffic along the highway for hours.
