Duremdes lifts BOC in UNTV

MANILA, Philippines – Former PBA MVP Kenneth Duremdes and Sam Ignacio combined for one big play in the clutch as newcomer Bureau of Customs outlasted Government Service Insurance System (GSIS), 76-74, in the fifth UNTV Cup at the Pasig City Sports Center last weekend.

Receiving a pass from Duremdes, Ignacio scored in the last 10 seconds that turned out to be the winning basket as the GSIS Furies failed to make a decent attempt in the face of the Customs Transformers’ solid defense.

Cashing in on his height advantage, the 6-foot-9 Marlou Aquino led the Transformers with 12 points while Bernon Franco and Ignacio chipped in 11 points. Duremdes finished with nine points.

Also winning their opening game assignments in the event organized by UNTV president and CEO Daniel Razon were powerhouse Malacañang and House of Representatives.
