Blu Boys upbeat on Asian softball bid

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine Blu Boys, currently in Singapore for the 14th Asian Men’s Softball Championship, hope to come up with a strong finish as they step their drive to qualify in next year’s World Softball Championship.

“We are looking at a strong finish as the boys have prepared hard for this,” said Asaphil president Jean Henri Lhuillier. “Japan remains the team to beat and we hope to play them in the finals.”

The top three teams will qualify for the world tilt slated in June 2015 in Canada.

The tournament, being held at the Kallang Softball Diamond, lured six teams, led by defending champion Japan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Singapore and Brunei.
