Philanthropist Imelda Cojuangco passes away
MANILA, Philippines — Imelda Ongsiako Cojuangco passed away Tuesday, PeopleAsia reports.
Imelda, also known as “Meldy Co,” is an icon of elegance and grace in Philippine society.
A lady with a big heart for people and a mother with endless affection for her five children, including business tycoon Antonio “Tonyboy” Cojuangco, Imelda survived aneurysm she suffered last year but eventually succumbed to death after her immune system was weakened by the disease. Reports say she was rushed to the hospital after complaining about her breathing.
Throughout her life, she has been known as a butterfly in Manila's high society, who loves to throw in activities for the benefit of the children and the poor. She was the founding chairperson of the J. Moreno Foundation and the Cofradia de la Inmaculada de Concepcion.
Meanwhile, her granddaughter, Dominique Cojuangco took to Instagram to pay tribute to her grandmother, sporting Imelda's signature flower-decorated hair.
