3 drown in Pangasinan, Bulacan
BUGALLON, Pangasinan , Philippines — Two women drowned while gathering shellfish in Agno River in Barangay Cabayaoasan in this town on Sunday.
In an interview over Bombo Radyo Dagupan yesterday, town police officer-in-charge Maj. Daryl Nevado identified the fatalities as Jennifer Santos, 40, and Janet Biag, 33, both residents of Aguilar town.
Santos’ body was recovered on the same day. Rescuers retrieved Biag’s body on Monday.
In Bustos town in Bulacan, two children drowned in an irrigation canal on Saturday.
A belated report reaching Col. Rommel Ochave, acting Bulacan police director, said Jay Ar Gutierrez, 9, was pronounced dead on arrival in a hospital.
The companion of the boy, Cristina Gutierrez, 11, is now in stable condition at the Baliwag District Hospital. – Ramon Efren Lazaro
