78 evacuation centers for Marawi residents
MANILA, Philippines - At least 78 evacuation centers across Mindanao are catering to the needs of 3,982 families or 18,335 people displaced by the ongoing fighting between government troops and Maute terrorists in Marawi City, according to the military.
Records show that 70,895 families or 335,064 persons are also staying with their relatives or friends in 409 barangays across Mindanao.
The Army said 43 of the evacuation centers are in Lanao del Sur, 34 in Lanao del Norte and one in Misamis Occidental.
In Lanao del Norte, there are five evacuation centers in Iligan City, 11 in Baloi town and 18 in Pantao Ragat.
Eight evacuation centers were put up in Ditsaan-Ramain and Saguiran; four each in Calanogas and Madamba; six in Kapatagan; two each in Balindong, Balabagan, Mulondo, Malabang and Pagayawan and one each in Bacolod-Kalawi, Picong, Madalum and Poona Bayabao in Lanao del Sur.
