House panel OKs proposed Quezon-Bicol expressway

MANILA, Philippines - The House committees on Southern Tagalog development and appropriations recently endorsed for plenary approval a bill seeking to establish the Quezon-Bicol Expressway (QuBex). 

House Bill 6475 consolidated the bills filed by Reps. Scott Davies Lanete of Masbate and Aleta Suarez of Quezon.

Under the bill, QuBex will be financed, constructed, operated and maintained by a proponent under the Build-Operate-Transfer Law.

The expressway will start in Malicboy, Quezon and end in Sorsogon. 

The Department of Public Works and Highways will also build a road that will connect the South Luzon Expressway Toll Road 4 in Lucena City and QuBex.
