APEC senior officials’ meeting starts in Subic
SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines – Delegates from 22 countries began arriving here yesterday for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation First Senior Officials’ Meeting (APEC-SOM1).
The emergency preparedness working group and senior disaster management officials’ forum preparatory meeting started yesterday while the counterterrorism working group workshop will be held today until Feb. 1.
The business mobility group workshop and management board meeting will start tomorrow until Feb. 2 while the electronic commerce steering group data privacy sub-group informal meeting will start tomorrow.
A preparatory meeting on high-level policy dialogue on human capacity building will be held today until Feb. 4.
The newly built Subic Grand Harbour Hotel and the Subic Lighthouse Marina are among the hotels where the SOM1 conferences will be held.
The Subic Bay Freeport also hosted the APEC Leaders’ Summit in November 1996.
