Fire hits Ilocos Army camp

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Some P3 million worth of firearms and valuables went up in smoke in a fire that broke out at an Army camp in Currimao, Ilocos Norte Friday.

Reports said among the items that were destroyed were an M60 machine gun, two K3 rifles, nine M-16 Armalites, assorted bullets, eight hand held radios, a pair of binoculars, a digital camera and food supplies.

The fire reportedly broke out at around 10 p.m. in one of the camp’s bunkhouses, which was made up light materials.

No one was reported injured in the blaze.
