6 charged for 2012 CDO hotel bombing
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – Authorities have filed double murder and double frustrated murder charges against the six suspects in a bombing incident that occurred near a hotel in Cagayan de Oro City in 2012.
The charges against Francisco Guzman, Renerlou Tidoy, Abdul Najib Abu Sahid Dimalma Sabair, Abu Jumam Ustadj Jumam, Sulkifi Bin Hir, and Marwan Nasser Abdul Ibrahim were filed before the office of city prosecutor Fidel Macauyag last Nov. 28.
Macauyag said on Friday that he formed an all-female panel to evaluate the case against the suspects.
He said the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group in Region 10 first filed a case last year against Guzman and “John Does.†He said he returned the case and ordered the CIDG-10 to gather more evidence.
He said this time the CIDG-10 came up not only with more evidence, but also additional witness and the names of the other suspects.
It could be recalled that two persons were killed and two others were injured in the explosion that occurred outside the hotel on Oct. 11, 2012.
