Zambo City crisis death toll: 113 - military

MANILA, Philippines - The number of people killed in the clashes between government troops and Moro National Liberation Front fighters allied with founding MNLF chairman Nur Misuari in the Zamboanga City has risen to 113.
Entering on its 12th day, the military said on Friday that of the figure, 10 were soldiers while three were police officers, and eight civilians.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines also recorded 92 MNLF rebels killed during the operations.
Meanwhile, the military reported that a total of 171 were wounded during separate firefights in the city, including 48 civilians who were caught in the crossfire.
Around 111 MNLF fighters were either captured by or surrendered to government security forces, the military added.
As of the moment, government troops are still trying to rescue around 11 civilians being held hostage by the MNLF rebels in Sta. Catalina and Sta. Barbara.
