Former TV host Pepe Pimentel dies
MANILA, Philippines - Former noontime game show host Pepe Pimentel died after he reportedly fell down in the bathroom in his house in Barangay Laging Handa, Quezon City on Thursday morning.
PO1 Rodante Balmeo ng Quezon City Police District Station 10 said Pimentel passed away at around 11:20 a.m.
In a radio report, Pimentel's grandson said his grandfather went to the bathroom and did not come out after 30 minutes. Pimentel's wife, Cecilia, then checked on Pepe and found him lying on the floor with blood on his head. He is thought to have suffered from a heart attack which caused him to fall over. Dr. Feliciano Montaño, the family's neighbor, said that the former TV host had no pulse and was already cold.
Pepe was supposed to meet his doctor for a checkup because he was not feeling well that morning.
Ramon Pimentel, Pepe's nephew, said his uncle requested to be created immediately in case he dies.
His remains will be brought to the Pinaglabanan Church in San Juan, his family said.
He was the host of Kuarta o Kahon which ran for 38 years. He also hosted "Tawag ng Tanghalan" and Student Canteen.
