Kyla working on a new album after 4 years

MANILA, Philippines- After four years, Kyla is working a new album under PolyEast Records titled “Journey.”

Working on a new album took a while since the RnB Princess had been busy these past  three years: In  2011, she tied the knot with PBA Player Rich Alvarez;  a year later Kyla got pregnant;  and in  May 2013, she gave birth to their baby boy.

The break from the recording world gave Kyla the opportunity  to compose her own songs and collaborate with different artists and songwriters.

An example of this collaboration is the carrier single of her album “Journey.”

“I wrote this song, 'Journey', I wrote as well when I was in my honeymoon sa Europe,” Kyla related during the MYX VJ Search 2014 awarding Tuesday, April 8.

“I wrote it and parang na-inspire lang ako kasi ang ganda-ganda ng paligid di ba? I called Jay-R when I got home, and I asked him if he can help me do the music. So we collaborated.”

Other songs that are included in her album, which will be released in May,  are “My Heart” (written by and a duet with Brian MaKnight), “Dito na Lang” (composed by Kiko Salazar), “Journey,” “I Got This” (composed by Kyla, Jay-R and Yosha), and “Atin ang Walang Hanggan” (composed by Jungee Marcelo).

Kyla gave a  preview of her latest album when she performed her single “Kunwa-Kunwari Lang” during the MYX VJ Search 2014 awarding Tuesday, April 8.
