LOOK BACK: 'Tell the World of His Love' theme song for Pope John Paul II '95 visit

MANILA, Philippines - Twenty years ago, Filipinos had the same anticipation during the visit of Pope John Paul II for the World Youth Day in the Philippines in 1995.

Pope John Paul II was warmly welcomed by the Filipinos, who are one of the nationalities that are known for their undying Catholic faith.

In that year, everyone was busy preparing for the arrival of Pope John Paul 11, including musicians. Lucky for Trina Belamide, the song that she composed titled "Tell The World of His Love" was chosen as the theme for the Papal Visit.

Her song was performed by Raquel Mangaliad and Jeffrey Arcilla and interpreted by Jamie Rivera.

Trina was an Ateneo graduate who left her career as an advertising copywriter to go full time in singing and songwriting.

Tonight, “The Voice Kids” winner Lyca Gairanod will perform the song at Pope Francis' World Meeting of Families event at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. It will also be performed by Darren Espanto at the Encounter with the Youth event in University of Santo Tomas on Sunday.
