QC to provide free cleft lip and palate surgeries

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Quezon City General Hospital (QCGH), in partnership with the Philippine American Group of Educators and Surgeons, is set to hold a free surgical mission next month for residents suffering from cleft palate disorder or bingot.

Mayor Herbert Bautista called on residents suffering from the disorder to undergo screening at the QCGH’s pediatrics department.

He said the screening, which will run until Jan. 25, is necessary to prepare the patients for the operation, which will be done from Feb. 9 to Feb. 15 at the QCGH.

Non-Quezon City residents can avail of the free surgery provided that they are endorsed by a relative who lives in the city.
