MANILA, Philippines — With the Diner and Milk Bar having set up shop, the School Area having rung its bell, the bustling district that was the Mom and Kids Fair had successfully kicked off Robinsons Supermarket’s two-month long campaign.

The campaign, which runs for the entire months of August and September, is a tribute to mothers, and centers around the importance of their role in a child’s life. The two-day event last August 4 and 5 was part of a concerted effort between Robinsons Supermarket and its partners to create a fun and exciting leisurely experience for mothers and their kids, while also enjoying freebies and discounts.

Moms and their kids got to avail of free hairstyling, custom aprons and photo booth picture taking. There were also free scoops of ice cream, pasta offerings, and sweet treats that went plenty around at the Diner and Milk Bar.

Not only has the experience proven memorable and “tasty” for everyone, it has also proven educational, as free DIY tutorials and arts workshops were given at the School Area. Nutritional advisors were also there during the event, more than ready to supply guests with all the things they needed to know about child growth and nutrition.

All of this is “…part of Robinsons Supermarket’s wellness commitment in creating a lot of activities that would educate and also empower Filipinos, especially women and kids, in learning more about their health,” said Aja Totanes, marketing manager for Robinsons Supermarket. “We cannot deny the power of mothers – their strength and unconditional love. Our campaign is just one simple way of showing our appreciation,” she added.

Several prominent “mommy bloggers” and social media influencers were also present with their kids during the event.

Lariza Garcia recalled how Robinsons Supermarket partner brands have helped her journey through motherhood over the years, “I have five kids. These brands na nandito ngayon had helped me a lot since the first time na nagka-baby ako. From Pampers to Nido, and easy-to-cook Nissins, Maggi, every one of these brands have been a part of our lives as mothers – talagang hanggang ngayon.”

“We took our firstborn out on a date and journeyed to Robinsons Place Antipolo for #MomAndKids2018! @robsupermarket made a whole town of their brands making it fun and experiential for the kiddies. I was tickled by the fact that these were MY brands growing up too,” mom, TV host and radio DJ Riki Flores said in an Instagram post after having visited the fair with her family.

Asked about how the event helped her embrace and be proud of her moments with her kids, Riki added, “It’s a nice bonding experience, it’s a nice time to get to know your child as well. Also because it’s open to the public, you get to interact with a lot of moms, and your kids get to interact with other kids also.”

For her part, mom and fashion stylist Bianca Reinoso shared, “It’s the perfect experience to just create happy memories with them, like my daughter right now, she’s like in a super good mood because we went through really happy activities, and I think that’s part of fostering a good relationship with your child.”

Louisa Mercado, who also joined in on the fun, said she definitely felt appreciated. “I was impressed because it’s a big event and there are a lot of things for us to do – being creative, having a snack, and there’s actually even a movie. Events like this make me feel appreciated because they take the time to make sure it has things that me and my child can do, it’s nice to just go to events like this where we can just, you know, forget the time and just do everything that’s there.”

The success of Mom & Kids Fair is timely and important – we can’t celebrate the importance of motherhood enough. The participants in the Robinsons Place Antipolo left hungry for more.

“Moms are not limited to just their chores. It’s the little things that moms do for us that means a lot and that’s what we remember also. We hope to share the fun to more moms nationwide,” Totanes concluded.
