MANILA, Philippines — University of Santo Tomas graduates dominated the 2017 nursing licensure exam for the third consecutive year after posting a 100 percent passing rate in the November exams.

Out of the 12,869 examinees, 5,875 passed the exams as announced by the Professional Regulation Commission Tuesday.

All of the 300 applicants from UST passed the board.

The UST College of Nursing, a center of excellence according to the Commission on Higher Education, has been consistently topping the board. In 2015, 402 examinees passed the exam while 324 applicants successfully hurdled the test in 2014.

Other top performing schools were Saint Louis University (99.39 percent), Benguet State University-La Trinidad (98.15 percent), Mariano Marcos State University-Batac (97.92 percent) and Mindanao State University-Iligan Institute of Technology (96.77 percent).

University of the Philippines-Manila alumnus Raymund Kernell Mañago led the latest batch of nursing graduates with a rating of 89 percent.

Veronica Louise Necor of UST ranked second with a score of 88.8 percent, while Princess Kenya Capacio of Central Mindanao University placed third with 88 percent.

The exams were administered on November 25 to 26, 2017. The results were released 11 working days after the last day of board examination.
