'Maring' makes landfall in Quezon
MANILA, Philippines (UPDATED 1:36 p.m.) — Tropical Depression Maring has made landfall over Mauba, Quezon and is now traversing towards the Laguna-Manila area, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
At 10 a.m., the center of the weather disturbance was located in the vicinity of Laguna, with maximum winds of 60 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 100 kph.
Tropical cyclone signal no. 1 has been hoisted in the following areas:

- Batangas
- Bulacan
- Camarines Norte
- Camarines Sur
- Cavite
- Laguna
- Metro Manila
- Nueva Ecija
- Pampanga
- Pangasinan
- Northern Quezon including Polillo Island
- Rizal
- Tarlac
- Zambales

Bicol Region, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, Palawan), Metro Manila, Central Luzon and Pangasinan will experience moderate to heavy rains due to "Maring." Landslide and flash floods are possible in the following areas.
"Sea travel is risky over the eastern seaboards of Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol region," PAGASA said.
"Maring" is expected to exit the Philippine area of responsibility by Thursday morning.

Meanwhile, Typhoon Lannie was last located at the northeastern boundary of the PAR and continues to move towards the Batanes-Taiwan area. It is not expected to directly affect the country.
