BOC seizes marijuana shipped from Canada

MANILA, Philippines -  The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted a package from Canada containing P102,900 worth of marijuana in a warehouse in Pasay City on Tuesday.

A team from the BOC anti-illegal drug task force seized the contraband at the Central Mail Exchange Center warehouse.

The BOC said 343 grams of marijuana were hidden in a parcel declared to contain sweaters.

The operation was conducted in coordination with the airport police. 

Deandre Travis Cruz, claimant of the seized parcel, was brought to the Pasay City prosecutor’s office forinquest proceedings.

Charges of violating Republic Act 10863, the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act) will be filed against Cruz.
