AFP officer accused of rape

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 31-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a military officer in Tanay, Rizal on Saturday afternoon.

Police are preparing criminal charges against Maj. Leoncito Grezula Jr. of the 59th Infantry Battalion, who reportedly went into hiding after the incident.

Initial reports showed that Grezula allegedly raped the victim at the Cabana Gathering Café in Barangay Sampaloc at around 2:30 a.m.

A manhunt for the suspect is underway.
