3 arrested in Lapu-Lapu buy-bust
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested three men in a buy-bust operation in Sitio Ibabao, Barangay Agus, Lapu-Lapu City last Saturday evening.
Roy Amores, 33, a resident in the area, will face charges of violations on Republich Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, after responding police captured him through a buy-bust transaction with a police decoy around 7 p.m.
Police Senior Inspector Alcon Escosura, Chief of Marigondon Police Station, said that aside from Amores, the latter's associates identified as Marklin Dinoy, 25, who lives in Sitio Basak-Eskwelahan, Barangay Basak, and 41 year-old Edvil Godinez, also a resident of Sitio Ibabao and Amores' neighbor.
Police seized six sachets of suspected shabu from Amores including the suspected proceeds of the illegal drugs transaction worth P500, while the P300 buy-bust money was recovered.
At least two small packs of shabu were seized from Dinoy and Godinez, who were both found together with Amorez when the entrapment took place.
Escosura said the estimated value of the confiscated shabu is about P3,500.
No drug paraphernalia was found on any of the three suspects.
The suspects are currently detained in Lapu-Lapu City Police Office holding cell, and will face drug complaints on Tuesday.
Escosura said the confiscated drugs were sent to the PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. — /JBB (FREEMAN)
