INC denies endorsing Bongbong
MANILA, Philippines — Iglesia Ni Cristo denied endorsing a candidate for the upcoming elections despite the earlier confirmation of Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
According to a report from The STAR, leaders of the religious sect are still deliberating on who to support in the May 9 elections.

Marcos earlier claimed that INC had informed him of the endorsement last Tuesday, citing his long relationship with the sect as it also supported his late father, former President Ferdinand Marcos.
On the other hand, several presidential aspirants have met with the group's leaders in the hope to get its bloc vote.
In the 2010 elections, the sect endorsed the Liberal Party tandem of President Benigno Aquino III and former Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II.
