Hottest this year: Metro Manila sizzles at 37.7ºC
MANILA, Philippines – The temperature in Metro Manila yesterday hit a scorching 37.7 degrees Celsius, the hottest recorded so far in the metropolis since the dry season started last month, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the warmest temperature was recorded at the Science Garden along Agham Road in Quezon City at 1:50 p.m.
Yesterday’s temperature surpassed the previous warmest temperature at 37.5 degrees Celsius recorded last Saturday.
PAGASA warned the public to brace for warmer weather in the coming days due to the ridge of high pressure area, which is extending over Luzon, and the easterlies now affecting the Visayas and Mindanao.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies will prevail over Metro Manila and the rest of the country with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms while coastal waters throughout the archipelago will be slight to moderate, it added.
