MANILA, Philippines — Five persons, including two minors, were rushed to the hospital after unidentified men burned the evacuation camp of Lumad refugees in Davao City early Wednesday.

According to reports, five unidentified men burned down the Lumad dormitory located at the UCCP Haran compound in Davao City at around 2 a.m.

Hundreds of Lumad refugees from Davao del Norte and Bukidnon have been staying at the church-run compound since last year.

The arson incident was allegedly perpetrated by the Alamara, a paramilitary group backed by the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Gabriela Women's Party said.

"It is imperative that a thorough investigation must be conducted and that perpetrators are made accountable. The violations, harassment and killings continue and the Lumads are being attacked without end," Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan said in a statement.
