Susan Roces denies Grace is Marcos's daughter
MANILA, Philippines - Actress Susan Roces on Tuesday denied rumors that Sen. Grace Poe is the love child of her sister, Rosemarie Sonora, and former President Ferdinand Marcos.
"Bakit naman namin itatago 'yon kung totoo?" Roces told members of the press in an ambush interview in Iloilo City.
Roces insisted that Sonora was not pregnant in 1968, the year Poe was found at the Jaro Cathedral in Iloilo.
According to Roces, her sister was busy with her acting career at the time and hiding a pregnancy from the public would have been difficult.
Last week, Poe revealed that the DNA test results with a woman in a Guimaras who claimed to be the sister of her biological mother turned out negative.
The presidential aspirant is still facing disqualification cases before the Supreme Court despite launching her presidential campaign last week.
Poe earlier said that she is open to the idea of undergoing a DNA test with her rumored brother, vice presidential aspirant Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr.
Marcos Jr., however, said that a DNA test to determine his blood relationship with Poe would not have any effect on her case.
