Chiz grateful for Trillanes, Magdalo’s Poe endorsement
MANILA, Philippines – Vice presidential aspirant Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero thanked Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV and the Magdalo group for endorsing his running mate Sen. Grace Poe’s presidential bid in the 2016 elections.
”I thank Senator Trillanes for supporting the presidential candidacy of Senator Grace in 2016 and for believing that she will be an excellent president,” Escudero said in a press statement.
”By embracing Senator Grace’s platform of government, he is one with all of us in our vision for a government that truly cares and genuinely serves the people. This is very much appreciated,” he said.
Trillanes endorsed Poe during his formal announcement of vice presidential bid in the Magdalo group’s general membership meeting at Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City last Saturday. He read the Magdalo’s resolution endorsing Poe during the meeting,
Escudero said Trillanes is “qualified and has every right to offer himself” for higher position.
”I wish him all the best,” he added.
Poe also appreciated Trillanes and Magdalo group’s support and trust.
Poe assured that she is one with them in their dream to achieve a government with justice and to fight for the interest of the Filipino people.
Trillanes is one of the two Nacionalista Party senators running for vice president.
NP member Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano also declared his vice presidential bid last week while Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. said he is planning to run for vice president.
Trillanes was the first to expressed intention to run for vice president independently. He only officially declared his vice presidential bid last Saturday.
