Ex-DILG undersecretary among new CA justices

MANILA, Philippines - Former Interior and Local Government undersecretary Rafael Antonio Santos is one of the newly appointed justices of the Court of Appeals (CA).

Supreme Court (SC) spokesman Theodore Te yesterday confirmed Santos’ appointment to the CA.

It was earlier reported that Santos was close to Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas and served as undersecretary at the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) when Roxas headed the agency.

When Roxas was transferred to the Department of the Interior and Local Government, he took Santos with him.

Santos was also reportedly one of the election lawyers of Roxas when he ran for vice president in 2010.
