Phl to enjoy fair weather until Friday
MANILA, Philippines - Fair weather is expected until Friday, save for some isolated light rains brought by the northeast monsoon, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.
PAGASA acting administrator Vicente Malano said a low-pressure area east of the Philippines is expected to intensify into a tropical depression on Saturday, but would not affect any part of the country.
“The LPA is going northward and will not affect the Philippines,†Malano said.
The PAGASA official said the northeast monsoon – cold wind from China and Siberia – would continue throughout February, although slightly warmer temperatures will be felt this week.
Tomorrow and Wednesday, the northeast monsoon is expected to bring cloudy skies with light rains over the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions, PAGASA said.
The rest of Luzon and Visayas will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains while Mindanao will have isolated afternoon rainshowers or thunderstorms.
The regions of Caraga and Davao will be cloudy with light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday due to the LPA east of Mindanao.
Metro Manila and the rest of the country will be partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated light rains.
