1,834 new doctors; Cebu grad tops exam
MANILA, Philippines - A graduate of the Cebu Institute of Medicine (CIM) topped the licensure examination for medical doctors given recently by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC).
The PRC said of the 2,211 examinees, 1,834 passed the physicians’ test held in the cities of Manila, Cebu and Davao.
Blake Warren Ang led the examinees with a score of 89.42 percent. Ranked second were Daniel Guevara and Abdelsimar Omar II, both of the University of the Philippines (UP), with 88.75 percent.
Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) graduate Ruth Divine Agustin placed third with 88.67 percent, followed by Timothy Lee Say of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) with 88.50 percent.
Abegail Ceralde of the De La Salle University and Co-Neil Relato of the University of the East-Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center shared the fifth spot with 88.33 percent.
Another UP graduate Jason Arboleda landed in sixth place with 88.25 percent, while Donn Romell Bernabe of UST and another CIM graduate Alvin Christian Borbon tied at seventh spot with 88.17 percent.
Karen Joyce Chua of UP placed eighth with 88.08 percent while AdMU graduate Pamela Marie Imperial ranked ninth with 87.92 percent.
UP graduate Paul Anthony Alad placed 10th with 87.83 percent.
Registration for the issuance of professional identification cards and certificates of registration will be on Sept. 2 and 3.
Successful examinees are advised to personally register and sign the Roster of Registered Professionals.
